The question is misunderstood
A response can drift when audience, purpose, form or task requirements are not identified first.
September 2026 intake | IGCSE
Read the task clearly. Write with control.
An exam-focused writing programme that gives students a repeatable strategy for decoding unfamiliar tasks, planning purposeful responses, writing with precision and improving through individual feedback.
Exam writing, made repeatableDoes this feel familiar?
A response can drift when audience, purpose, form or task requirements are not identified first.
They have points to make, but paragraph progression and overall organisation remain unclear.
They see the correction, yet struggle to turn it into a stronger decision in the next response.
A different way in
Students learn to decode the task, make a purposeful plan and write with control. Feedback then becomes a concrete route into correction and rewriting, not simply a mark at the bottom of the page.
The goal is a method a student can repeat on any prompt, not a single essay memorised for one paper.
The IGCSE Writing method
Hover, tap or focus each card to see what that step may help a student begin to do.
Inside the classroom
Students interrogate the task, choose a response, control the language, then read their own work like an examiner and rewrite it with purpose.
The opening learning cycle
These four weeks are the opening cycle of a complete 10-lesson term. They are not the full programme.
Week 1
Read the task before answering it.
Students identify audience, purpose, form and task requirements before planning or writing an answer.
Why it works
It is a repeatable way to handle an unfamiliar writing task. Students work towards greater independence and control by learning what to notice, what to decide and how to improve the response they actually wrote.
